Welcome to Horizon Mediation
A team of highly experienced professional family mediators, all formerly practising lawyers and now specialising in mediation. Together, we have advised, helped and represented thousands of husbands, wives, mothers and fathers at Court.
We now specialise exclusively in mediation with combined experience of over 40 years. We cover Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, London and Oxfordshire.

All our mediators are all Family Mediation Council Accredited – the Gold Standard of mediation. We care about your issues and concerns. We will guide you to the light at the end of the tunnel. We work closely with your solicitor so you and your family feel fully supported throughout the mediation process.
You know what’s best for your family
You decide your future. You move forward with your life. Mediation Information Assessment Meetings (MIAM) and mediations available online and at our offices.
Can we mediate during lockdown?
Absolutely. You’re completely free to choose the remote meeting option that works best for you including Zoom, Skype, Microsoft Teams and Google Hangouts
My children need stability
“Child Inclusive Mediation” gives your kids a safe way to express their feelings and concerns without putting them under pressure. Knowing what your kids think about how things could be easier or better for them will help you, as parents, make important decisions during mediation that will create a stable future.
My ex won’t stick to agreements
If your situation changes and the arrangements aren’t working, you can go back to the mediator to change the original agreement. If you’ve made an agreement legally binding and somebody doesn’t follow it, you should consider whether it can be sorted out with the help of a mediator. If not, it can be enforced through the courts.
I can’t be in a room with my ex
If, for any reason, you do not want to be in the same room with your ex-partner, we can provide a safe, separate space where you can mediate without having any contact. This is often called “shuttle mediation” and your mediator will act as a go-between for you. Please note that due to COVID19 restrictions, all our mediation meetings are currently being conducted online.

Nicola is an experienced FMC accredited family mediator working with clients to help them make lasting agreements that avoid the expense and stress which court action can sometimes involve.
Sara qualified as a solicitor in 2003 and has specialised exclusively in Family Mediation since 2013. Sara has obtained Family Mediation Council Accreditation. She is also qualified to see children as part of the mediation process.
Elaine is an experienced specialist family mediator having been involved in family law and mediation for over 30 years. During this time, she became a family solicitor specialising in divorce, separation and ancillary issues which led to an interest in mediation.
Elaine completed her training as a mediator in 1996 and subsequently became a Family Mediation Council Accredited Mediator. This enables her to provide the necessary court paperwork following a Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting (MIAM) if mediation does not proceed.
She is also a member of the College of Mediators. Elaine has worked extensively over the years with divorcing and separating couples and their families mainly in Bedford and Milton Keynes but also in Luton and Northampton.
Emma is a highly experienced family mediator and lawyer. Emma has worked with separating families in the St Albans, Harpenden and Hemel Hempstead area for over 25 years; first as a Solicitor, then continuing her journey into Dispute Resolution training as a Collaborative Lawyer in 2005, and then working as a Family Mediator since 2010.
Emma achieved the family mediation ‘gold standard’ with accreditation by the Family Mediation Council in 2013. This means that Emma can also conduct Mediation Information and Assessment Meetings (MIAM).
Emma has been able to continue her mediation practice online during Covid 19.
Jo has been working in the field of dispute resolution since the late 1990s. With a background as a solicitor qualifying in the early 1990’s she has worked in all areas of dispute resolution.
In 2001 she turned her focus to mediation and gained accreditation as a commercial mediator with CEDR in 2001, following on from which she moved into her role as a family mediator in 2010.
She was accredited by the Law Society and Family Mediation Council in 2014 and is able to undertake Mediation Information and Assessment Meetings “MIAMs” for clients.
She is also authorised to work with separating couples and their children, giving children a voice in the mediation process and informing parents’ decisions around child arrangements.
